WINTER FREEZE INSTRUCTIONS

WATER PIPES – KITCHEN AND BATHROOM

• Open cabinet doors under sinks.
• Turn cold water faucets on to drip. (DRIP ONLY)

HEAT

• Do not set heat below 60 degrees. Heat must be ON above 60 degrees to prevent freezing pipes.
• Keep exterior doors and windows closed completely.
• Keep interior doors open to all rooms.

COMMODE

• Do NOT put anything in the commode that will NOT flush including baby wipes, paper towels, female sanitary items, toys, food or grease.
• If a stop up occurs during the freeze, ice or snow. DHA staff will NOT be able to unclog the outside drain to fix your commode.

ELECTRICITY

• In case of a power outage, you must contact the Utility District that services your apartment.
